"Fascinating and wildly entertaining"

- Justin Lowe, The Hollywood Reporter

"One of the most unlikely stories ever captured on film."

- Andy Gensler, Billboard

"For sheer entertainment value and narrative sweep, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a better film than Sweet Micky for President."

- James Adams, The Globe and Mail

"Artfully takes us through a roller coaster ride. A truly engaging documentary"

- Jamieson Mondesir, Indiewire

"It's an utterly unlikely tale that almost starts like a joke until he becomes a legitimate candidate against the backdrop of a corrupt government and public upheaval. Throw in a little opposition from Wyclef Jean and support from Haitian activist Sean Penn and you have the makings of an equal part real-life satire and a document for change where it seems impossible. Patterson's film is lively, candid and has the arc of a Hollywood underdog tale in the best sense."

- Erik Childress, RogerEbert.com

"Full of alluring characters and largely unknown history and news, Sweet Micky is not only a must-see at the Atlanta Film Festival – it is a must-see, period."

- Khylen Steward, CBS Radio Atlanta

Music and politics collide when international music star, Pras Michel of the Fugees, returns to his homeland of Haiti following the devastating earthquake of 2010 to mobilize a presidential campaign for Haiti's most controversial musician: Michel Martelly aka Sweet Micky. The politically inexperienced pair set out against a corrupted government, civil unrest, and a fixed election. When Pras's former bandmate, superstar Wyclef Jean, also enters the presidential race, their chances seem further doomed. But with the help of a few friends, including Ben Stiller and former president Bill Clinton, they never give up on their dream of changing the course of Haiti's future.
